We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our Integrated Solutions Modeling and Architecture (ISMA) directorate, you will be responsible for developing and integrating mission simulations, virtual prototypes, and system emulators that represent a variety of mission technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and integrate live-virtual-constructive (LVC) simulations with other simulations, custom software, commercial-off-the-shelf software (COTS), government furnished models, hardware, and user interfaces.
- Develop and integrate new capabilities into existing simulation models.
- Run simulation environments and generate analysis data for evaluation.
- Work with a team lead to document design approaches and implement them.
- Work with a team lead to define and execute analysis plans.
- Participate in technical reviews with internal and external customers.
In this role, you will be exposed to a variety of mission systems development efforts under the supervision and guidance of subject matter experts. You will learn how to apply LVC concepts to develop and test mission systems under real-world conditions.
Qualifications- Typically requires a BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM Degree.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering work experience OR an advanced degree in STEM and 6 years of Engineering experience.
- Experience with integrating distributed Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) simulation components.
- Experience in developing software applications, including Software with natively compiled languages (e.g., C/C++), Object-oriented programming design (OOP / OOD), Integrating 3rd party software libraries and APIs into software tools.
- Experience developing software in Windows and Linux Environments, Ability to develop Concept and Data Visualizations, Experience using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) to automate tasks.
- Experience in configuration management tools (GIT, Subversion) and practices.
- Experience with 3-Dimensional geometry and modern imaging/visualization principles, including: Modern shader-based OpenGL pipeline.
- Experience in 3D Model Development using tools like Unity, Unreal, 3D Studio Max, Creator.
- Experience with scientific computing software (e.g., MATLAB) to evaluate analysis data, Experience in software or system modeling practices (e.g., UML, SysML, DoDAF), Experience with simulation tools and visualization environments, including: SIMDIS, AFSIM, Simulink, STK, MaK Image Generation systems, Experience with gaming engines or related technologies, including Unreal / Unity / Creator / 3D Studio Max, 3D terrain and object modeling.
- Experience with computer network fundamentals, Grasp of OS fundamentals (Shared Mem, Multi-Threaded, etc.).
- Experience with IEEE 1278 DIS, IEEE 1516 HLA, and/or TENA, Experience with RADAR, Electro Optical (EO), and/or Infrared (IR) sensing systems.
- Experience with Agile Development Lifecycles.
