Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembler I to join our team at Dormakaba Group. As an Assembler I, you will be responsible for performing assembly and packaging tasks required in the manufacturing process of automatic doors. This role involves working from job specifications under the direction of the department group leader and/or supervisor, executing scheduled and assigned activities, daily production requirements, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists to gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Assemble sub-assemblies and components for correct fit, including headers, jambs, transoms, and door panels to established specifications.
  • Package product to established standards, including headers, jambs, transoms, and door panels. Maintain equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs as needed.
  • Use hand tools to assemble and measure required parts.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components and reject if established quality standards are not met.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and/or GED Certification.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • General assembly skills.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
