Assembler I Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Assembler I to join our team at dormakaba USA, Inc. in Reamstown, PA. As an Assembler I, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of automatic doors, ensuring high-quality products are produced efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Study assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists to gather necessary materials and tools.
  • Assemble sub-assemblies and components for correct fit, including headers, jambs, transoms, and door panels, to established specifications.
  • Package product to established standards, ensuring headers, jambs, transoms, and door panels meet quality standards.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, following manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshoot malfunctions as needed.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components and reject if established quality standards are not met.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needed supplies, and expediting orders.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and/or GED Certification.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • General assembly skills.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Very active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
  • Frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in an assembly/production environment.
