Key Responsibilities
  • Operate locomotives and perform pre-trip inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Monitor track conditions and adjust train speed as necessary to ensure safe passage
  • Collaborate with Conductors to communicate delays or changes in the schedule to the public
  • Respond to emergency situations and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on operating rules and regulations
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Customer-facing experience and mechanical, diesel, automotive, or electrical experience preferred
  • Commercial experience as a bus driver, truck driver, subway or train operator, commercial pilot, or other heavy equipment experience preferred
