We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Safety Ambassador to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a Public Safety Ambassador, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and report on public safety conditions, working closely with the UC Irvine Police Department to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communication skills to our students, faculty, and staff, responding to their safety and security concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct sustained foot patrols and extended stationary post assignments to maintain a visible presence on campus and deter potential security threats.
- Collaborate with other departments and units to develop and implement effective safety and security protocols, ensuring a comprehensive and proactive approach to campus safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital security or law enforcement setting, with a strong understanding of security protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to read, write, and speak proper English, with a strong understanding of safety and security protocols and procedures.
In addition to a competitive salary range of $22.29-$29.40, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, sick and vacation time, retirement savings plans, and access to a range of discounts and perks.
Conditions of Employment- Must successfully complete an extensive background investigation and FBI fingerprinting process.
- Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
