Job Summary:
Christus Health is seeking a skilled Health Information Management Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our medical records management process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain consistency with administrative and departmental policies, adhering to standards of behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.
- Assist patients in completing birth certificate worksheets, processing information into the Birth Certificate Manager Program.
- Produce birth certificates, acquire appropriate signatures, and verify information for accuracy.
- Transmit birth certificates to designated authorities and deliver completed certificates to the appropriate department.
- Serve as an information liaison for nurses, physicians, nursing units, family members, and other departments as necessary.
- Assist the Unit Clerk in maintaining the procedure logbook to ensure accurate patient data entry.
- Transport laboratory and pathology specimens and x-rays to radiology as needed.
- Assist with patient admissions and discharges, preparing and breaking down charts as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in medical records management or a related field.
Work Environment:
