Job Summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a skilled Patient Access Coordinator II to join our team. As a key member of our admissions and registration team, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience from arrival to admission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets patients promptly and provides exceptional customer service.
  • Collects and verifies patient demographic and insurance information with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Searches the medical records system to ensure accurate patient identification and assignment of medical record numbers.
  • Researches patient visit history to ensure compliance with Medicare's 72-hour rule.
  • Completes Medicare Secondary Payor Questionnaires as necessary and maintains accurate records.
  • Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational materials to patients and families.
  • Communicates with admitting physicians, nursing staff, and other personnel to ensure seamless patient flow.
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as required.
  • Performs medical necessity checks and determines required payments or refers to financial counselors.
  • Provides coverage to other areas of registration as needed.

Requirements
