Position Summary:

The Vehicle Assembly Technician will play a crucial role in modifying and personalizing vehicles according to specific requirements. This position involves working with various types of aerial and construction equipment, as well as both heavy and light-duty trucks. A commitment to learning and a strong attendance record are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assembly and disassembly of vehicle bodies and equipment, including the removal of fasteners, welded components, and hydraulic hoses, adhering to company standards.
  • Building and customizing vehicles using a range of parts to meet specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate records of daily work performed on each vehicle to track labor hours and costs.
  • Positioning parts using manual methods or with the assistance of hoists, cranes, or forklifts.
  • Interpreting drawings and schematics to ascertain material needs and task sequences.
  • Ensuring tools, equipment, and the workspace are well-maintained and safe for operation.
  • Wiring electrical components and plumbing hydraulics on various vehicles.
  • Performing welding tasks on trucks and chassis.
  • Reading and comprehending work orders to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Adapting to a fast-paced work environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Executing additional duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the team.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong attendance and reliability.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Basic computer skills for onboarding and timekeeping purposes.

Work Environment:

This role primarily takes place in a shop and outdoor settings, requiring the ability to use carts, forklifts, hand trucks, and similar equipment. Physical demands include frequent lifting and the ability to stand or walk on various surfaces for extended periods. Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, and fumes is common.
