Position Overview:

The Asset Protection Associate plays a vital role in supporting the Asset Protection Manager by identifying, documenting, and addressing issues related to inventory loss, cash management, and theft. This position exemplifies and promotes the company's core values of respect, integrity, diversity, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into any evidence of illegal activities or violations of company policies regarding the security of assets across all departments.
  • Ensure adherence to all corporate policies and protocols related to asset security.
  • Identify and analyze the root causes of losses or potential risks to company assets through collaboration with store personnel or direct reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of cash management and invoices using an access database.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive incident and restitution documentation.
  • Foster positive relationships with law enforcement agencies to enhance collaboration.
  • Continuously assess and innovate strategies to mitigate losses in cash and inventory.
  • Perform regular inspections of facilities to ensure physical security and asset protection.
  • Monitor surveillance systems as applicable.
  • Keep the Asset Protection Manager updated on all relevant incidents.
  • Coordinate inventory counts and cash audits, compiling necessary data for processing.
  • Participate in hearings and court proceedings as required.
  • Act as the primary backup for the Asset Protection Manager.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all operational matters.
  • Support and enforce all company policies and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, conducting performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a retail environment or security-related field.
  • Ability to travel independently as needed.
  • Physical capability to perform essential duties, including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 70 pounds.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in retail or security.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
