Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Spotts, Stevens and McCoy, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for industrial, commercial, and R&D facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the design of HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and fire protection systems.
  • Work with multi-discipline staff to design and implement mechanical systems in new or existing buildings.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and associates to ensure successful project execution.
  • Perform mechanical design calculations and standard computations.
  • Follow building design and energy codes and standards.
  • Survey mechanical systems, equipment, and building conditions.
  • Specify equipment requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications.
Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field of study.
  • 7-9 years' experience in the design of HVAC systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge/understanding of LEED and Green Building practices is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, self-motivation, and leadership skills required.
