Job Description:

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people by solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a dedicated Design Project Manager II to join our talented team at our headquarters location.

In this role, you will provide leadership on assigned projects and act to achieve financial, schedule, and client relationship objectives. You will also plan and organize all engineering functions specific to the project, coordinate client interaction between the project team and client, and provide guidance on recommended manpower and technical resource loading.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Holds primary responsibility for the achievement of scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives on assigned projects.
  • Attends pre-bid meetings with clients and prepares proposals in conjunction with department heads, directors, and other key individuals.
  • Actively develops Design budget.
  • Manages client interaction on assigned projects and promotes positive relationships.
  • Identifies risks to the project and corporation and works with Project Executives and Director of Operations to mitigate risks.
  • Is responsible for project scope control and development/communication of all change notices (SAN) to the client.
  • Leads project teams of their own or led by others to a successful conclusion.
  • Coordinates with project discipline lead to determine the scope, complexity, and planning and scheduling requirements of the projects.
  • Prepares internal monthly financial/schedule reports for the Director of Operations for each project.
  • Prepares monthly financial/schedule reports for the Client as requested by the client.
  • Manages all sub-consultants on the project.
  • Assists in identifying, and developing innovative methods for improving project management processes and techniques against current SOPs.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced Project Managers and Project Engineers.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 8+ years of industry experience at least five (5) of which includes Project Management experience.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, architecture, or planning.
  • 2+ years of Pharmaceutical/GMP project experience.
  • Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others.
  • Fundamental level of scheduling skills.
  • Has the ability to run multiple simultaneous large projects.
  • Skilled in the use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, planning, and scheduling software.
  • Understanding of Earned Value and other project control methods.
  • Promotes Safety and adheres to IPS and client Safety policies.

This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other non-administrative areas.
