Position Overview
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Trainee will engage in a comprehensive training program designed to equip them with the necessary skills to excel in the healthcare environment.
The PCA Trainee will undergo a combination of theoretical (virtual and/or in-person) and practical training sessions aimed at enhancing competencies in communication, interpersonal relations, infection prevention, safety protocols, fostering independence, understanding patient rights, monitoring and documenting vital signs, maintaining a safe patient environment, identifying and reporting changes in patient conditions, personal care techniques, mental health awareness, and restorative care practices.
Upon successful completion of this training, the PCA Trainee will be well-prepared to take the certification examination as mandated by the relevant state nursing board.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Commitment to attending all required training sessions, completing assignments punctually, and actively participating throughout the duration of the PCA Trainee program.
Minimum Educational Requirements
Must be a Rising High School Junior or Senior or
GED Preferred
High school diploma Preferred or
Required Certifications
Basic Life Support / American Heart Association certification.
Essential Skills and Experience
Ability to adhere to detailed instructions.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient verbal and written communication, particularly in documentation.
Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
