About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optical Specialist to join our team at American Vision Partners. As an Optical Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret prescriptions and assist patients in selecting the appropriate eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as needed.
- Take optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation and order eyewear from the laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
- Perform quality inspections of lenses and frames, and make any necessary adjustments using appropriate tools and instruct patients on cleaning and handling.
- Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies, and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous optical experience preferred, but willing to train if eager to learn.
- ABO and NCLE certification a plus, with a requirement to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) certification a plus.
- Detailed-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong computer skills including Word and Excel.
- Flexible schedule working Monday through Friday.
