About the Role

As an Optician at American Vision Partners, customer service is a top priority. You will assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, adjustments and fittings, and educating them on proper eyeglass and contact lens care. Your initiative and organizational skills will keep our practice running at top performance, while your enthusiasm and knowledge will provide an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret prescriptions and help patients choose suitable eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as necessary.
  • Take optical measurements required for eyewear preparation.
  • Order eyewear from the laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
  • Perform quality inspections of lenses and frames.
  • Adjust eyewear to patients using the appropriate tools and instruct on cleaning and handling.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Previous optical experience is preferred; we are willing to train individuals eager to learn.
  • ABO and NCLE certification is a plus and will be required within six months of hire.
  • Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) certification is a plus.
  • Detailed-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Flexible schedule working Monday through Friday.
