Patient Services Specialist

About the Role:
As a Patient Services Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Updating patient demographic and insurance information
- Collecting and posting patient co-payments and outstanding balances
- Addressing patient-related telephone calls and responding to emergency needs
- Entering new referrals and ensuring existing referral numbers are linked in the system
- Providing patient education on managed care plans and referral processes
- Scheduling and coordinating patient visits and medical procedures
- Notifying providers and patients of changes to scheduled appointments
- Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of customer service experience, including the ability to multi-task and resolve patient concerns in a timely manner
- Access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel 10% of the time to other locations as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
We also welcome candidates with a beginner level of understanding of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Soft Skills:
To thrive in this role, you will need to possess strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also essential, as you will be interacting with patients, providers, and other stakeholders on a regular basis.
