Position Summary

Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a Senior Generator Service Technician responsible for diagnosing and executing intricate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on various equipment at client locations. This role involves working on equipment such as refractory units, coil tubing units, and pumping units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively troubleshoot and identify issues with client equipment.
  • Order necessary components for repairs and scheduled maintenance.
  • Conduct major repairs and replace parts as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance in line with established protocols.
  • Document all work orders and timesheets accurately and promptly.
  • Support junior technicians in completing tasks as needed.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Adhere to quality standards and safety regulations in all tasks.
Required Qualifications
  • Dependable and trustworthy character.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Clear and concise written communication abilities.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED with three to seven years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills
  • Basic computer skills are necessary; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.
  • Ability to operate laptops and portable diagnostic tools is essential.
Certifications
  • Technical certification in automotive, lift truck, heavy equipment, or diesel engine repair is mandatory.
Physical Requirements
  • Vision (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception) and sense of smell.
  • Sense of touch.
  • Capability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Work Environment
  • Work will be conducted at various client locations, both outdoors and in a workshop setting.
