Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Interrelated High School Social Studies Teacher to join our team at Atlanta Public Schools. The ideal candidate will have the ability to ensure student success through differentiated instruction and create a climate that promotes respect, tolerance, and peaceful problem-solving for all students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students through lectures, discussions, visual aids, and other effective teaching methods to promote student comprehension.
  • Prepare lessons and outlines to effectively cover the material and administer various types of assessments to monitor student performance, behavior, and other issues.
  • Attend faculty meetings and training sessions, and adhere to local, state, and national testing procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required with at least a 2.5 GPA.
  • Minimum of a T4-Certification in Special Education General Curriculum Consultative (P-12) and the Social Science core academic content.
  • Passed the GACE Program Admissions Assessment or have exemption eligibility (ACT/SAT scores) and passed the GACE in Special Education General Curriculum Consultative (P-12) and Social Science AND GACE Educator Ethics Program Entry.
  • Zero (0) years of teaching experience.

Salary Grade: T4 Bachelor - T7 Doctorate

Salary Range: FY' Teacher Salary Schedule

Work Year: 202 Days

FLSA Status: Exempt
