Key Responsibilities:
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) employs the nursing process in the care of assigned Residents, administers medications and treatments, and accurately documents on the designated nursing unit.
  • The RN communicates ongoing observations and assessments to the designated Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, or Unit Manager.
  • The RN demonstrates knowledge of basic test/lab collection values and delivers direct resident care in accordance with policies/procedures and the Resident Bill of Rights, combined with demonstrated clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Identifies and responds promptly to patient concerns and needs.
  • Exhibits effective interpersonal skills essential for ensuring appropriate quality patient care.
  • The RN prepares resident assignments based on the needs of the patients and the competencies of the personnel, monitors and evaluates the flow of activities and delivery of patient care (including positioning, bathing, etc.), and ensures that documentation records (ADLs, meal intake, etc.) are completed for CNAs.
  • The RN is punctual and provides proper notification for lateness or absenteeism.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensed and registered in good standing in New York State as an RN.
  • Experience with geriatric patients is preferred, but not mandatory. New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
  • A genuine desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled individuals.
  • Possesses a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm to foster an environment conducive to rehabilitation and growth.
  • Knowledge of the medical, social, and psychological needs of residents, general nursing theory and practice, and infection prevention principles/methods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDC.
