Key Responsibilities
  • Execute Environmental Services tasks effectively, adhering to the established 7 Step Cleaning Process.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in all cleaning activities to ensure a hygienic and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Organize and keep cleaning carts, equipment rooms, and waste disposal areas tidy, ensuring all cleaning supplies are correctly labeled.
  • Engage positively with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues through verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Assist individuals as necessary or direct them to the appropriate personnel for assistance.
  • Utilize cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform cleaning duties in various areas including offices, patient rooms, common spaces, restrooms, and food service areas.
  • Conduct sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of hallways, staircases, and office areas.
  • Clean light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows, and coverings.
  • Empty waste containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Restock supplies and materials as needed.
  • Rearrange furniture and set up tables and chairs for events.
  • Report maintenance needs to supervisors promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Document and report any accidents or injuries immediately.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and hazard assessments regularly.
  • Apply OSHA and local safety regulations to all assigned tasks.
  • Complete required training programs as designated by the healthcare facility.
  • Handle and package Regulated Medical Waste and Chemo Waste as necessary.
  • Change cubicle and shower curtains when required.
Additional Duties
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
  • Follow all company policies and standards diligently.
  • Refer to departmental documentation for specific duties during orientation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations regarding the protection of patient health information (PHI), including participation in annual training and adherence to the Code of Conduct.
Qualifications:
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of cleaning experience (Required)
  • Experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a solid work ethic and ability to work independently (Required proficiency).
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions and protocols (Required proficiency).
  • Proficient in using electronic and communication devices (Required proficiency).
  • Capability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) (Required proficiency).
  • Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly (Required proficiency).
  • Work primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor activities (Required proficiency).
  • Wear protective gear as required by the work environment (Required proficiency).
  • Experience with ladder usage (Required proficiency).
Physical Requirements
