The Retail Operations Supervisor is accountable for overseeing and managing various aspects of store operations as delegated by the Store Manager. This role involves adhering to company policies concerning customers, team members, and product presentation. The Supervisor is expected to acquire comprehensive knowledge of all operational functions within the store. In the absence of the Store Manager, this position assumes responsibility for the overall store operations, ensuring that corporate standards and best practices are consistently upheld.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operational Excellence
    • Champions all corporate best practices to enhance productivity by reducing unnecessary steps and actions during tasks.
    • Aids in the evaluation of store performance through analysis of reports, focusing on controllable expenses.
    • Communicates any discrepancies from corporate standards to the Store Manager.
    • Ensures effective scheduling of team members to align with business goals.
    • Guarantees compliance with all applicable regulations at the state, local, and federal levels.
    • Accepts special projects as assigned by leadership.
    • Manages payroll processes, including daily time edits, compliance with scheduling, payroll submissions, and reporting as required.
  • Team Development
    • Assists in the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of non-exempt team members.
    • Ensures adherence to company personnel policies and procedures.
    • Supports team relations by reporting any incidents to the Store Manager or District Manager as necessary.
  • Cost Management
    • Aids in the continuous monitoring and management of expenditures to remain within budgetary constraints.
    • Controls payroll hours as a primary expense while adjusting to current business trends.
  • Safety and Security
    • Recognizes that safety is the utmost priority and practices safe behaviors in all activities.
    • Ensures all team members are knowledgeable of and can execute emergency procedures.
    • Maintains compliance with corporate safety policies, ensuring the safety of both team members and customers.
    • Facilitates monthly safety meetings.
  • Customer Engagement
    • Treats all customers, team members, and leaders with respect and professionalism.

    • Proactively manages the timely processing of merchandise to the sales floor.
  • Loss Prevention
    • Aids in training team members on loss prevention awareness and store shrinkage goals.
    • As a representative of corporate leadership, demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions.
    • Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
    • Understands and adheres to the loss prevention awareness program, maintaining a strong customer service presence on the sales floor.
    • Assists in leading the annual inventory process, including preparation and execution of inventory guidelines.
    • Monitors stock policies to ensure proper management.
    • Ensures the public view monitor system is properly maintained.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a retail supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and communicate effectively with team members at all levels.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, with a focus on prioritization and follow-through.
  • Ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Capability to perform basic mathematical calculations relevant to retail operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to operate all store equipment, including registers and computers as necessary.
  • Capacity to spend the majority of working hours standing, walking, and moving throughout the store.
  • Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, and lift items over 25 lbs.
  • Proficiency in using janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other necessary supplies.
  • Certain roles may require additional qualifications and skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct supervision of all non-exempt team members.
