Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our team at Actalent. As a Fire Sprinkler Designer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing safe and efficient fire sprinkler systems for industrial, commercial, and residential applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design fire protection sprinkler systems, including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems, with accuracy and detail to enable field installation with few design errors.
  • Project Management: Submit design plans to proper department leadership for approval and obtain permits as required.
  • Calculation and Analysis: Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production.
  • Time Management: Design fire protection sprinkler systems within allocated hours for each job.
  • Review and Quality Control: Review work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Prepare submittal packages and subsequent correspondence to achieve design approval.
  • Material Procurement: Prepare fabrication lists for pipe fabrication vendors and requisition materials for the job.
  • Field Surveys: Perform field surveys to ensure the design is appropriate for structure.
  • Installation Support: Assist field personnel with design-related installation issues.
  • Project Closure: Prepare and submit final job close-out documents after final acceptance testing.
Requirements
  • Certifications: NICET Water-Based Systems Layout Certification II or III preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoSPRINK.
