About the Role

The Staff Accountant/CPA is a vital member of our team, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns. A CPA license is required or in progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with tax planning and strategy, providing recommendations and guidance to achieve their goals and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare accurate and timely tax returns for Individuals, C & S corporations, partnerships, multi-state, high net worth individuals, trusts, estates, and nonprofits.
  • Perform general bookkeeping work, including entering data, maintaining records, and making journal entry adjustments.
  • Analyze financial information, including balance sheets, income statements, etc.
  • Research tax and accounting issues, providing guidance to clients.
  • Prepare accounting and tax reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with compliance audits under GAAP rules.
  • Verify and ensure financial data is entered correctly and accurately.
  • Stay current on trends, tax issues, and changes in tax law.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Accurately record time spent on billable and non-billable hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including ethics, conduct, and safe working expectations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree in accounting or finance required.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks for small to medium-sized clients.
  • Experience working with software such as ProSystemFX, Axcess Tax, Engagement, and BNA tax planning software.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.

  • Job Type: Full-time.
  • Pay: From $65,000.00 per year.
  • Benefits: 401(k) matching, flexible schedule, flexible spending account, health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement, vision insurance.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday.
  • Experience: 1 year of GAAP experience required.
  • License/Certification: CPA required.
