Job Title: Dual Licensed K-6 Teacher

At Spero Academy, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dual Licensed K-6 Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and cooperative learning environment that fosters academic success and personal growth.

Job Summary:

The Dual Licensed K-6 Teacher will be responsible for teaching and supporting students in a K-6 classroom setting, utilizing a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with Minnesota State Standards and Academic Benchmarks. This role requires a strong understanding of special education principles and practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with support teachers and therapists to ensure student needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that integrate school-adopted curriculum and maximize student potential.
  • Use the Synergy Student Information System and Parent Portal to track student progress and communicate with parents.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings, data collection, and analysis to ensure student needs are met.
  • Lead and facilitate team meetings and collaboration in the classroom.
  • Provide training and feedback to staff assigned to work as part of the classroom team.
  • Evaluate students using appropriate evaluation tools and maintain student due process records.
  • Understand and implement School-wide Discipline Policy and how it relates to special education students.
  • Work collaboratively with support teachers and therapists to ensure student grade-level, IEP, and individual needs are being met.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure in Elementary and Special Education by the State of Minnesota.
  • Excellent oral, written, and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to interact well with internal staff, students, and parents.
  • Detail-oriented and flexible.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful in the completion of work assignments.
  • Sense of accountability and ownership for work results.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
