Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team at Watson Electrical Construction Co, LLC. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the commercial, industrial, and residential electrical construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct the installation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with national and local codes.
  • Lead and work alongside a crew to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Monitor and control the assignment of foremen to projects.
  • Complete required paperwork, including time sheets, safety reports, and accident reports.
  • Requisition and inspect materials and equipment.
  • Monitor and control the Company's established policies concerning the Company's Substance Abuse Program (SAP), vehicle usage, Hazardous Communication Program (HCP), and Quality Assurance Program (QAP).
Requirements
  • Current state driver's license if required by job conditions; applicable federal, state, and local licenses as required by job conditions or by the company.
  • Applicable federal, state, and local certifications as required by job conditions or by the company.
  • High School Graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent Watson training.
  • Required or necessary experience and/or training to assure all aspects of position are performed efficiently and productively while operating in accordance with policies and procedures of the company.
Working Conditions

The job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow. The employee must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns) and have required personal tools with him at all times. The job requires working from all types of ladders (up to 14') and carrying/relocating up to 12' step ladder unassisted. The employee's personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed the weight limit of the ladder. The job requires performing work at various heights, up to 90' from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas. The employee must work in restricted areas (switch gear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics) and wear personal protective equipment as required in the Safety Handbook.

  • Comprehend reading and drawing prints and schematics of same.
  • Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
  • Must have the ability to use required power tools.
  • Operate equipment, trenchers, lift trucks, etc. in a safe manner.
  • Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.
  • Operate two-handed tools and equipment as required.
  • Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints, and written instructions.
  • Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered).
  • Work energized circuits and equipment as outlined in Safety Policy.
  • Supervise assigned job site employees to complete project.
