Position: Industrial Suppression Technician
The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct NFPA-compliant services, inspections, and installations of portable fire extinguishers, kitchen suppression systems, and emergency lighting inspections. Our objective is to enhance the performance of the Suppression Department while ensuring profitability, meeting client expectations, and adhering to NFPA standards.
This role demands a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment, with a strong emphasis on customer relations, quality service delivery, and a comprehensive understanding of NFPA regulations relevant to various systems. Travel to client locations is a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute services, inspections, and installations in accordance with NFPA 10, 17, 17A, and 96.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic issues, communicating findings to clients and service managers for necessary repairs.
- Oversee and ensure the timely completion of all assigned tasks.
- Prepare and submit work tickets and inspection reports promptly to administrative staff.
- Manage personal scheduling for daily inspections.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and manage workload effectively.
- Promote company services to both new and existing clients.
- Conduct inspections using man lifts at heights of 30 to 40 feet as required.
- Participate in after-hours emergency response rotation.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are essential:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Vocational training or industry certification is advantageous.
- Proficient knowledge of NFPA 10, 17, 96, and 17A.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
- Capability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications.
- Physical capability to lift at least 75 pounds.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
