Key Responsibilities:

  • Register patients and maintain accurate insurance information.
  • Schedule patient visits and follow-up appointments as necessary.
  • Utilize electronic medical records to ensure proper documentation and patient tracking.
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse patient population and healthcare team.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries to appropriate team members.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for patient disability and absence from work or school.
  • Discuss financial obligations with patients and clarify any regulatory forms.
  • Support the clinical workflow by working across multiple systems during patient interactions.
  • Adhere to payer requirements for referrals and authorizations.
  • Promote patient safety and report any issues promptly.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • 2-3 years of office experience or one year in a medical practice preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and Microsoft Office is advantageous.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and walking occasionally; sitting is a constant requirement.
  • Minimal lifting and carrying; frequent talking and hearing.
