Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to promote the health and well-being of residents in Marion County. The Public Health Nurse will work with individuals and families to assess, counsel, and provide preventive services to promote health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer vaccines and provide TB skin tests
  • Conduct blood pressure screenings and provide health education
  • Work with a diverse population with different cultural backgrounds and languages
  • Represent the Marion County Public Health Department in a professional manner
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from a NLN accredited college
  • 1 or more years of previous nursing experience - preferred
  • Computer skills including typing skills of a minimum of 30 words per minute
  • Current Indiana RN license
  • CPR certified
Working Environment

This position requires a valid Indiana Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle. The employee may be exposed to substandard and unsanitary living conditions, allergens, and communicable diseases. The employee must be able to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
