Position Overview:
Marion Public Health is in search of a skilled individual to take on the role of a full-time or part-time Public Health Nutritionist within the WIC Program.
Key Responsibilities:
The WIC Public Health Nutritionist will be tasked with conducting comprehensive nutrition and health evaluations, offering dietary counseling, supporting mothers with breastfeeding initiatives, and assisting with administrative functions within the clinic.
Preferred Qualifications:
We highly encourage applications from Registered Dietitians with prior WIC experience. Additionally, Registered Dietitians, Dietetic Technicians Registered, Registered Nurses, and recent graduates with a background in dietetics are welcome to apply.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience in nutrition assessment and education within a WIC context.
- Expertise in supporting breastfeeding practices.
- Knowledge and skills in motivational interviewing techniques.
- A passion for collaborating with community partners to enhance access to nutrition, physical activity, and healthcare services.
