POSITION SUMMARY: The Security Specialist will serve as a pivotal figure and subject matter expert in overseeing distributed security systems. This role entails conducting comprehensive physical security evaluations, audits, and training initiatives. The specialist will provide critical support to the Security and Preparedness Manager, focusing on Physical Security and Security Capital Program Management by identifying existing vulnerabilities and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct vulnerability assessments, Site-Specific Security Assessments, and Security Audits, dedicating 50% of your time to developing assessment schedules and producing detailed reports that quantify results for security project evaluation.
  • Project Management Support: Allocate 25% of your time to assist in managing security capital projects, collaborating with security vendors and local Facility Security Coordinators to oversee capital replacements, enhancements, and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime of security systems.
  • Operational Project Leadership: Spend 10% of your time supporting project managers in operational project management, including design, delivery, and inspection of security components.
  • Troubleshooting Support: Dedicate 5% of your time to provide field support for resolving security issues or outages, coordinating with the Integrated Operations Center team to restore normal system functionality.
  • Law Enforcement Liaison: Use 5% of your time to act as a liaison with local law enforcement, ensuring prompt responses to security alarms and incidents, and conducting investigations as necessary.
  • Incident Management Assistance: Contribute 5% of your time to assist the Security and Preparedness Manager with incident and event management tasks as required.
