Childcare Center Administrator

We are pleased to present an opportunity for the Director of Childcare Operations at Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk, Inc. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth functioning of our childcare facility, adhering to all applicable regulations and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily operations of the center, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
2. Address and resolve any issues related to center management, seeking assistance when necessary.
3. Maintain comprehensive administrative records, including documentation for staff and children.
4. Develop work schedules, supervise staff, assist in lesson planning, and evaluate employee performance.
5. Ensure the Assistant Director is adequately trained to assume responsibilities in the Director's absence.
6. Stay informed about all center activities and operations.
7. Prepare and submit reports as required by management, adhering to established policies.
8. Manage the financial aspects of the center, ensuring accurate accounting and protection of assets.
9. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and manage the operational budget as approved.
10. Ensure all classroom equipment is maintained and coordinate necessary repairs in line with company procedures.
11. Handle company assets responsibly, including daily deposits and management of petty cash.
12. Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable, following established guidelines.
13. Make necessary purchases to support center operations while optimizing profitability.
14. Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios.
15. Ensure that all staff members are familiar with their job descriptions, policies, and orientation materials.
16. Maintain personnel records in compliance with confidentiality requirements.
17. Keep an updated list of substitutes available for staffing needs.
18. Ensure accurate and up-to-date records for each child, fostering effective communication with parents.
