Job Summary

Mercer University is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web-based applications and programs using state-of-the-art development tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, and maintain web or client-server-based applications, machine learning, and artificial intelligence-based solutions.
  • Establish software solutions by studying existing code and following best practices.
  • Assess software limitations and capabilities through automated and manual product testing.
  • Create software design documentation using industry best practices.
  • Communicate project status to internal customers and technical leads.
  • Collaborate in the design and implementation of new features and modifications.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • A Ph.D. degree in Information Technology or other science, technology, engineering, and math degree with a focus on software development from an accredited institution; or a Master's degree in same and 1 year of directly related experience; or an undergraduate degree in same and 2 years of directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
  • Beginner-level experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, J-Query, C#, and Dot.NET frameworks.
  • Beginner-level experience with secure coding practices.
  • Beginner-level experience with database design principles and Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Beginner-level experience with the agile framework and software development life-cycle.
  • Beginner-level experience with the development of testing strategies for components and/or applications.
