Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Financial Controls Specialist to join our remote/hybrid team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting activities related to financial risk management and the implementation of mitigating controls for Bridgestone Americas (BSAM). The Senior Financial Controls Specialist will report directly to the Internal Controls Manager and will focus on the BSAM Internal Controls Framework, particularly within the retail sector. This role will assist in maintaining risk and control documentation while coordinating with management, Internal Audit, and external auditors.

Work Arrangement

This position is open to FULLY REMOTE candidates from any state/time zone or a HYBRID schedule at Bridgestone HQ in Nashville, TN.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and ensure the timely maintenance of process narratives, flow diagrams, and risk/control matrices (RCMs).
  • Collaborate with management and Internal Audit to guarantee comprehensive coverage for JSOX testing, focusing on business process controls and financial reporting controls.
  • Assist in creating and delivering internal control training and materials for team members.
  • Concentrate on enhancing processes and redesigning controls within the retail environment.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with business partners through effective communication and responsiveness.
  • Contribute expertise and best practices to Bridgestone Americas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • CPA certification or in progress.
  • Experience in public accounting is preferred (e.g., Deloitte, PwC, Ernst & Young, KPMG).
  • Experience in the retail sector is advantageous.
