Position Overview

The IT Technical Aid will work under the supervision of professional information technology staff to provide basic support services and assistance. This includes performing routine information systems related tasks in a centralized IT organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to systems customers and/or to departmental staff for a variety of IT related issues.
  • Identify, track, document, research, and resolve job issues or problem calls.
  • Follow specific procedures for escalating high priority issues, when required.
  • Support IT professionals by performing routine systems testing and production work.
  • Work on medium size office grade printers and high speed commercial printers as needed.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of information technology devices.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of highly specialized clerical experience involved in an information systems environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in customer service, decision making, organizational awareness, problem solving, oral communication, speaking and writing.
  • Ability to lift office supplies and equipment of up to twenty pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience within the last three (3) years of Microsoft Windows 10 installation, configuration, support and maintenance experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years lifting and imaging personal computers devices for both setup and installation of desktop computers and printers.

Education

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Information

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Own vehicle for commuting to work sites.
  • Ability to travel to all LACoFD sites.
