Role Responsibilities

The Café Shift Lead plays a crucial role in our dynamic and passionate team, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere of Grand Central Bakery's cafes. This position involves a strong commitment to serving delicious food and beverages to our loyal clientele. The Café Shift Lead is expected to efficiently manage various tasks during shifts, including operating the sandwich bar during peak hours and frequently acting as the Person in Charge (PIC).

Key Information

Compensation: $16.80 per hour plus tips, with an estimated tip average of $9.00 - $10.00 per hour.

Work Schedule: Full-time with required flexibility, including weekends.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
  • Must possess a valid food handler's card by the start date.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in food service is preferred.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and a friendly demeanor with customers.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift.
  • Capable of working in a loud environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Exposure to bakery-related dusts is expected.
