As a Shift Lead Housekeeper, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the housekeeping staff, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and efficiency in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain exam rooms, offices, bathrooms, and public areas, including dusting, floor cleaning, and washing windows/mirrors
  • Clean common areas, hallways, corridors, floors, elevators, and stairwells
  • Perform terminal cleaning of exam rooms, including disinfecting surfaces, fixtures, and equipment, using approved cleaning agents and following infection control protocols
  • Restock restroom supplies and other consumables
  • Maintain an infection-free environment throughout the hospital
  • Utilize approved cleaning solutions for proper disinfection
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, residents, and healthcare staff
  • Respond to emergencies related to cleaning the hospital environment
  • Strip, scrub, seal, and wax floors
  • Empty, sanitize, and reline trash containers
  • Dust furniture and equipment
  • Use various types of cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and washing machines
  • Document the procedure for disposing of hospital waste products and ensure adherence to standard hospital practices
  • May be required to wipe out blood or other bodily fluids and disinfect the area of contact
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • At least one (1) year of experience in hospital housekeeping services within the last three (3) years
  • Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies (e.g., DOD, DHS, FAA, etc.) to obtain security access badges
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Pass a pre-employment background test
  • Be fully vaccinated
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess one or more of the following:
  • Certified member of the International Executive Housekeeper's Association (IEHA)
  • Current member of the American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services of the American Hospital Association
  • Successfully completed a publicly offered housekeeper's course certified by the IEHA, or
  • Successful completion of a comparable formal Executive Housekeeper's Course emphasizing hospital disinfection and independently controlled by an in-service management training program
  • OSHA 10 Training Certificate
  • OSHA 30 Training Certificate
  • Proficiency in languages other than English, especially Spanish
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Working Environment:

The work environment characteristics described in this job description are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.

  • Work is typically performed in an indoor environment, in a medical/clinic setting
Physical Demands:
  • Duties may include standing for long periods of time with frequent reaching, sitting, walking, twisting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting

Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs.

  • Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test for this position
