Position Overview:

The Manager of Environmental Services is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of our community facilities and grounds. This role ensures that all maintenance and cleaning tasks are performed to promote the health, safety, and comfort of residents, guests, and staff, in compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the environmental services and housekeeping teams.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to maintain high service standards.
  • Conduct staff evaluations and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Engage in budget planning for the environmental services department.
  • Collaborate with corporate maintenance teams and external vendors to fulfill community needs.
  • Inspect facilities and grounds, prioritize projects, and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure accountability for the upkeep of buildings and grounds, monitoring cleanliness and maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably within the hospitality or senior living sectors.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical college or four-year degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading environmental services and housekeeping teams.
  • Ability to address maintenance requests, including plumbing and minor electrical issues.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Capable of prioritizing projects and assessing improvements for added value.
