Responsibilities

As a Senior Public Relations Manager at the Washington Center for Equitable Growth, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing media relations strategies to advance the organization's mission
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key journalists and influencers in the economic policy space
  • Elevating the organization's presence through strategic media outreach and pitching
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop and distribute compelling content
  • Providing media training and coaching to staff members and the academic network

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications/media relations, with a proven track record of successfully placing stories in top-tier media outlets. A Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public policy, economics, or a related field is required. Exceptional written and oral communication abilities, with the ability to distill research clearly and engagingly, are essential.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $80,000 - $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and the cost of living in the Washington D.C. area. This is a full-time, bargaining unit position.
