Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not include supervisory duties.

The Maintenance Engineer is tasked with ensuring the upkeep and repair of the facility and its various components. This position will carry out preventive maintenance, projects, and assignments as directed by the supervisor. The role involves performing moderate repairs and contributing to significant renovations and enhancements to the establishment in a safe, consistent, and professional manner. The Engineering Department will also assist other operational units with guest-related activities as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate foundational knowledge to diagnose and repair in several areas, including:
    1. Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Low Voltage, Basic Computer Skills, Drywall, Painting, Wallpaper, Pool & Spa Maintenance, and Preventive Maintenance for Guest Rooms and Common Areas.
  • Address HOTSOS tickets within skillsets independently.
  • Support the execution of HOTSOS tickets and CAPEX projects outside of skillsets with guidance.
  • Verify and calibrate equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and proper functioning.
  • Maintain precise log records related to HOTSOS and specific departmental checklists.
  • Install new components into existing systems with minimal downtime.
  • Participate in all mandatory meetings.
  • Assist with projects or tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Respond promptly to equipment or system malfunctions.
  • Communicate accurately regarding the nature of equipment or system failures.
  • Propose solutions to resolve equipment or system issues.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Collaborate effectively within the Engineering Department to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Represent oneself and the Engineering Department positively and professionally.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures as outlined in the SOP Binder.
  • Conduct all tasks in a manner that fosters a professional and safe work environment.
  • Report any unsafe practices, conditions, or incidents to the immediate supervisor promptly.
  • Address landscaping concerns.
  • Be available 24/7 to cover work shifts and emergencies.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in hotel, institutional, or HVAC systems.
  • 1-2 years of experience with laundry equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, life safety systems, and preventative maintenance systems.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.
  • Hours may exceed 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
