Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Intevac. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of our cutting-edge capital equipment products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vacuum systems, including troubleshooting and testing
  • Work with engineering team to design and implement new equipment and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics and diagrams
  • Provide technical support and training to colleagues as needed
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in vacuum systems maintenance and repair
  • Strong understanding of ultra-high vacuum systems, vacuum pumps, and leak testing
  • Ability to work from schematics, diagrams, and written descriptions to perform testing and troubleshooting
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of AC/DC circuits, including fundamentals of electricity and basic electronic components and circuits
  • Basic PC skills, including MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to properly use common hand tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with compressed gasses and gas delivery systems
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum systems
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to spend large portions of time walking or standing
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • Must be able to perform tasks while stooping, crouching, kneeling, or crawling
