Position Overview:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Cardiology department, you will be responsible for a variety of technical procedures essential for patient care. Your role will include:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer intravenous therapies, including starting IVs and delivering medications and fluids with precision.
2. Conduct stress tests, including regular, thallium, and pharmacologic assessments.
3. Set up and monitor Holter devices.
4. Perform ECGs, pacemaker evaluations, and manage cardiac event recorders.
5. Engage in telephone triage under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
6. Provide patient education and support.
7. Assist healthcare providers in their daily tasks.
8. Ensure the availability of emergency equipment and adhere to emergency protocols as needed.
9. Maintain the medication sample supply as required.
10. Participate in the Coumadin clinic following established protocols.
11. Complete additional related tasks as assigned.
12. Communicate lab results to patients as directed by physicians.
13. Document patient history, medication details, and educational information accurately and in accordance with policy.

Collaboration and Support:
Support the head nurse as needed and float to different areas as requested by the Nurse Manager to ensure adequate staffing.
Participate in nursing meetings to share insights and collaborate with team members.
Assist in onboarding new staff when necessary.

Safety and Compliance:
Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to safety protocols and OSHA guidelines, including proper cleaning of equipment.
Report any concerns to the Nurse Manager promptly.
Carry out other duties as required to ensure the effective operation of the practice.

Documentation:
Complete necessary paperwork at the Licensed Practical Nurse level, including insurance and disability forms.

Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid NYS LPN license/registration.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is mandatory.

Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in an outpatient cardiology setting is highly desirable.

Work Schedule:
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday during the day.

Salary Information:
