Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Surgical Endocrinology team at Stamford Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our mission to deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care and provide mentorship to non-nursing personnel
  • Assist with patient interviews, reviewing medical profiles, and documenting patient information
  • Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, weight, and report any abnormalities to physicians
  • Assist with specimen collection and testing as necessary, and document pertinent information
  • Provide minor treatment as directed by physicians and assist with minor procedures
  • Provide education to patients and families as indicated, assessing learning needs and documenting patient-related activities
  • Schedule patient testing and pre-certify insurance requirements
  • Respond to telephone messages and end-of-month checks for expired supplies and medication
  • Stock rooms, maintain inventory, and clean exam/procedure rooms
  • Order supplies as needed and notify patients of test results as per physician instruction
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in CT
  • Maintains a minimum of 6 contact hours annually
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar position
