Surgical Endocrinology LPN Job Summary

The Stamford Health team is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Surgical Endocrinology practice in Stamford. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, coordinate treatment plans, and work collaboratively with physicians and staff to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care, adhering to established standards of practice and state and federal guidelines.
  • Provide mentorship to non-nursing personnel and serve as a resource to staff and management in problem identification and resolution.
  • Check schedules, organize patient flow, and greet patients, documenting concerns and questions.
  • Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms, prepare them for physical exams, and obtain vital signs.
  • Assist with specimen collection, testing, and documentation, as needed.
  • Provide minor treatments as directed by physicians and assist with procedures.
  • Offer education to patients and families, assessing learning needs and documenting activities.
  • Schedule patient testing, pre-certify insurance requirements, and respond to telephone messages.
  • End-of-month checks for expired supplies and medication, stocking rooms, and maintaining inventory.
  • Clean exam/procedure rooms and equipment, preparing for the next patient and physician needs.
  • Notify patients of test results and follow up, as per physician instruction.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in CT.
  • Maintain a minimum of 6 contact hours, annually.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a similar position.
