Cardiac Sonographer

The Cardiac Sonographer provides high-quality patient care utilizing the skills and knowledge of the profession. This role involves performing echocardiograms and vascular ultrasounds in accordance with established practices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and imaging techniques to optimize the quality of ultrasound images.
- Position patients on examination tables for optimum testing procedures and conditions.
- Explain procedures in easy-to-understand terms to relieve patient anxiety.
- Set up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
- Provide proper and accurate documentation of patient care in the patient medical record.
- Maintain infection control precautions and identify potential infection control problems.
- Participate in Quality Assurance activities within the department.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Associates Degree with completion of ultrasound program (preferred)
- 2 years related experience in an outpatient practice setting (preferred)
This position is active and requires the employee to constantly move about in the office to assist patients, staff, and medical providers.
The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
