We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at MidMichigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons
- Support and direct patients for consults and/or testing, and insurance pre-certification and documentation
- Perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs and assessing and recording objective and subjective data
- Update and maintain accurate patient records, including orders reconciliation and secure messaging
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures
- Prepare and clean patient areas, set up equipment, and dispose of contaminated supplies
- Active certification/licensure as a Medical Assistant (RMA, CMA, or equivalent)
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited organization (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 1 month of hire or transfer
This role requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and postural changes. You will be exposed to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, trauma, grief, and death. You must be able to wear personal protective equipment and move freely about the facility.
