Child Care Educator for Before and After School Programs

We are seeking dedicated Child Care Educators for our Before and After School Programs.
This role requires flexibility to work various shifts throughout the week.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, from 5:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
ROLE SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Site Director/Coordinator, the Educator will be responsible for designing and executing daily activities within the Child Care programs at Kettle Moraine YMCA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to the DCF Wisconsin Licensing Regulations for Group Child Care Centers, along with YMCA Child Care Policies and Orientation materials.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula through lesson planning that fosters the growth and self-esteem of children.
- Guide and mentor assistants and volunteers.
- Ensure a safe and organized environment, including maintaining cleanliness.
- Engage with children at their level, providing supervision to ensure safety.
- Assist with meal and snack preparation.
- Promptly report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
- Welcome and communicate positively with parents, being sensitive to their and the children's feelings.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with members, participants, volunteers, and the communities we serve.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 17 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred experience in a supervisory role.
- Educational qualifications must comply with DCF Wisconsin Licensing Regulations for Group Child Care Centers.
- Current CPR/AED certification is preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Must complete and pass a fingerprint check, health physical, and TB test.
- Ability to interact appropriately with children at their cognitive level.
CERTIFICATIONS:
1. Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention training required annually.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Capability to engage in all necessary physical activities with children.
