We are seeking an experienced litigator to join our team as a Senior Litigation Attorney. As a key member of our Civil Litigation Section, you will be responsible for defending law enforcement personnel in complex civil rights lawsuits. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a senior-level attorney with substantial litigation experience, who thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Litigation Attorney, you will be responsible for:

  • Defending law enforcement personnel in complex civil rights lawsuits in Colorado state and federal courts.
  • Assisting with the management and investigation of complex civil rights lawsuits and identifying areas of risk for the purpose of providing risk management services to various city departments and agencies.
  • Pursuing actions in which the City is the plaintiff and providing city departments and agencies with training, legal advice, and policy and procedure development to ensure compliance with best practices.
What You'll Bring

We are looking for an attorney who is a self-starter, team-player, and passionate about working in public service. You should have:

  • At least seven (7) years of significant litigation experience, including successfully managing a large case load and trying cases as lead counsel.
  • Experience handling litigation involving public entities.
  • Experience in civil rights law and/or complex tort litigation.
  • Experience with large document production projects and eDiscovery compliance.
