Job Summary

Career Strategies is seeking a skilled Apartment Maintenance Specialist to join our team in the Fort Lauderdale area. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, diagnose, repair, and resolve issues related to electrical, plumbing, A/C and heating systems, appliances, stairs, railings, gas fixtures, carpet, tiles, flooring, etc.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, replacements, or installations, including faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water-dispensing refrigerators, and washing machines.
  • Conduct electrical repairs, replacements, or installations, including power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, climate control systems, and garage doors openers.
  • Perform drywall repairs, including filling in small holes caused by nails and minor dings from normal wear and tear.
  • Provide painting services, including minor touch-ups following damage repair and new coats of paint applied to unit walls.
  • Repair, replace, or install major household appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers, range ovens, washers, and dryers.
  • Perform grounds keeping duties, including mowing grass, pulling weeds, trimming and pruning trees and shrubs, watering lawns and plants, replacing light bulbs, and tidying up bark or other ground covering.
  • Maintain a tidy appearance in shared community locations, including the leasing office lobby, clubhouses, and fitness or recreational areas.

Requirements:

  • Must have the necessary tools to effectively complete tasks.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
