Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer - Municipal Services to join our team at INFRASTRUCTURE CONSULTING & ENGINEERING. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and drafting roadway and aviation plans using CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and draft roadway and aviation plans using CAD software.
  • Provide support in completing engineering tasks related to design procedures, evaluation of criteria, scope development, and the creation of accurate estimates.
  • Perform intricate engineering and geometric calculations to devise project designs.
  • Conduct thorough quality control assessments, permit reviews, and Local Agency Program (LAP) evaluations to ensure adherence to federal and departmental design criteria, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of design details and concepts during public meetings, workshops with local agencies, and internal staff gatherings.
  • Perform civil design using knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil3D.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/designer.
  • Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of civil engineering experience using a drafting program.
  • ~2 to 5 years of experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D experience required.
  • High level of knowledge in highway design concepts, terminologies, design principles, and analytical techniques.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided drafting and design tools and automated office products.
  • Understanding of project engineering and scheduling.
  • Strong skills in planning, organizing, and managing multiple work assignments.
  • Proficient in the engineering process for the production of highway construction plans.
  • Problem-solving abilities in the field of engineering.
  • Application of engineering quantitative techniques in highway design.

Work Environment:

This is an onsite position reporting to the ICE office 5 days a week. The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
