Position Overview:

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to individuals facing challenges related to substance use disorders, with a focus on Opioid and Stimulant Use Disorders. We also offer specialized Intensive Residential Treatment Services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver personalized counseling, group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention aligned with treatment objectives.

2. Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered in client records, adhering to organizational policies and regulatory standards.

3. Possess a thorough understanding of relevant MN Statutes governing the services provided to our clientele.

4. Formulate individualized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each client, ensuring compliance with established policies and standards.

5. Conduct and document assessments in line with organizational procedures and regulatory requirements.

6. Engage in weekly team meetings and supervision sessions.

7. Facilitate individual supervision meetings with clinical staff and interns on a weekly basis.

8. Manage disciplinary actions related to employee performance and behavior, including verbal and written warnings and performance improvement plans.

9. Collaborate with external providers, including legal and correctional entities, to coordinate care and share necessary information.

10. Fulfill discharge responsibilities in accordance with contractual obligations, licensing standards, and organizational policies.

11. Act as a resource for clients, leveraging knowledge of community services and opportunities.

12. Ensure accurate documentation of client information in communication logs and other necessary forms.

13. Understand the program's mission and how individual contributions support its objectives.

14. Address client conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary matters with professionalism.

15. Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to team discussions.

2. Complete clerical tasks such as document preparation and data entry.

3. Support management in decision-making processes.

4. Establish clear boundaries with colleagues and clients.

5. Assist with the maintenance of agency supplies as needed.

6. Keep team members informed of relevant developments.

Attendance Expectations:

1. Adhere to attendance policies and report for shifts punctually.

2. Participate in rotational schedules, including holiday shifts as required.

3. Be willing to work additional hours as necessary.

Qualifications:

- Must hold a license from the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

- Designation as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor Supervisor is required.

- Knowledge of 245G regulations and related statutes is essential.

- A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.

- A minimum of three years of experience in chemical dependency counseling is required.

- CPR certification is necessary or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

- Must have two years of demonstrated freedom from chemical use issues.

- Successful completion of a State of Minnesota Background Check is required.

- A valid Minnesota Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record is necessary.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer skills is expected.

Preferred Qualifications:

- A Master’s degree in a human services field is advantageous.

- Specialized training in areas such as DBT-SUD, CBT, or MI is beneficial.
