Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Design Specialist to join our team at BranchPattern. As a leading consulting engineering and building science firm, we provide innovative solutions for complex problems.

The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong background in HVAC for healthcare projects. They will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, collaborating with architects and other engineers, conducting load calculations and energy modeling, and preparing detailed drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. System Design and Development: Design and develop mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  2. Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with architects and other disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into building designs.
  3. Performance Optimization: Conduct load calculations, equipment selection, duct and pipe sizing, and energy modeling to optimize system performance.
  4. Compliance and Analysis: Perform simulations and analyses to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer as they apply to HVAC systems.
  • Advanced user in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and HVAC design software (e.g., IESVE, Trane Trace).
